Parent & Educator Training

Parent and Educator Training in Singapore

We believe that parents play a powerful role in their child’s communication journey. That’s why parent training is woven into our therapy approach. Parents are encouraged to sit in during sessions, especially for younger children, so they can observe, learn, and practise strategies alongside their child. A portion of each session is dedicated to coaching caregivers on how to support communication at home in everyday routines such as playtime, mealtimes, and storytime. Our goal is to empower families with practical tools that fit naturally into busy schedules, helping children make progress beyond the therapy room.

Teacher Training and Professional Development

We believe that communication support is most effective when it is embedded within the classroom environment. Our teacher training programmes are designed to equip early childhood educators with practical, evidence-based strategies to support speech, language, and social communication development throughout the school day. Rather than adding to teachers’ workload, our approach focuses on integrating language-supportive practices into existing routines such as circle time, play, transitions, and story sessions.

We encourage collaborative partnerships with schools, working alongside educators to strengthen classroom communication environments and support children with diverse learning needs.

Our Teacher Training Services Include

Hanen Learning Language and Loving It®

An evidence-based programme designed for early childhood educators. This training supports teachers in creating language-rich classroom environments, promoting peer interaction, supporting children with language delays within group settings, and using responsive interaction strategies to extend children’s communication.

Professional development workshops

Customised workshops tailored to preschool settings, including communication milestones in the early years, identifying children who may benefit from additional support, practical classroom strategies for speech and language development, supporting social communication and peer interaction, building language and early literacy through storybooks, and supporting children with diverse communication profiles.

Classroom observation and consultation

Classroom observations with feedback, strategy planning meetings, and collaborative consultation with leadership teams. Our goal is to empower teachers with practical tools that support confident, inclusive, and communication-rich learning environments.

What Parents Say

★★★★★
I attended the ‘How to Read to Your Child’ workshop by Speech Therapists Xian Hui and Alex. The space was not only well set up for learners, but also super friendly for young ones to attend and play too. The content of the workshop was clear and they gave us plenty of real life examples that made it easy for participants to understand and apply. These included evidence-based research data on the approaches, example words and actions that we could use, and lots of anecdotes from personal experiences. I found it especially helpful that their advice on how to engage children with books was complemented by specific books and book series too. I’ll surely recommend parents, grandparents, educators, and speech therapists to join in the future!

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the “How to Read to Your Child” workshop. It was such a good workshop, offering valuable insights not only for parents but also for caregivers and professionals who work closely with children. I especially appreciated how the session combined practical strategies with clear and easy-to-understand explanations. Thank you, SLPs Ms. Seet Xian Hui and Mr. Alex Ong, for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us. I truly enjoyed the session and learned so much! I’ll definitely be joining the next workshop! ❤️

I highly recommend the Speech in Play series by Tammy and Xian Hui. It’s such a unique and practical programme. My daughter was 10 months when she started, and she loved the mix of indoor, outdoor, and water play. The speech strategies gave us a structured way to play with her in different environments, and the confidence that we were saying the right words to guide her speech development. The reading workshop with Xian Hui and Alex was also very useful. I took away tips on what to look for in books, examples of great picks by age, and how to tailor how I read to keep it age-appropriate. I’m inspired to keep up my daughter’s reading routine with these strategies!
